Frequently asked questions

What is Pingify?

Pingify is a service that helps you attach a Pingify NFT Tag to valuable items. If someone finds your item, they can use the Tag to contact you securely and anonymously.

Unlike similar products this works using NFTs and by communicating with a blockchain (Polygon blockchain).

How do Pingify NFT Tags work?

Each Pingify NFT Tag is linked to a unique digital asset (NFT) on a secure blockchain network. When someone scans the NFC tag, they can use a special link to send you a secure message via Moki.Network

Do I need to sign up to use Pingify?

No, Pingify uses a secure digital wallet instead of a traditional account, this is the foundation for how blockchain technology works. The wallet acts as your identity (user account), and the access key (private key) is stored securely on your device. This gives you (or anybody who has it) access your wallet/account.

What happens if I lose my private key?

Your private key is like a master password to your Pingify wallet. If it is lost, Pingify cannot recover it or your NFTs so keep it safe and don't share it with anybody.

What devices are compatible with Pingify NFT Tags?

To program and write to the NFT Tags, your phone must support both NFC read/write and the Pingify app. Most modern smartphones can read/write NFC tags and open the secure links. But make sure to check before purchasing a Pingify NFT Tag.

What blockchain does Pingify use?

Pingify operates on the Polygon blockchain, which is a fast and cost-effective network. You will need a small amount of Polygon tokens in your wallet to cover minor transaction fees, however, with each Pingify product we provide some of this token as an extra to get you started. The cost of a transaction can vary depending on the activity on the blockchain, but to give you an idea, the cost of one transaction (editing an NFT data) is usually less than 1 cent worth of Polygon token.

How is my NFT data kept secure?

Your NFT data is encrypted and stored on the blockchain. The encrypted data is public, but only somebody that has scanned your NFT tag (and therefore has the decryption key) can read your decrypted NFT data.

What if someone else scans my Pingify NFT Tag?

If someone scans your tag, they can read your NFT data (Title, description, Icon etc) and message you. Once someone has scanned the tag, they can access any updates to the information unless you change the encryption key (future feature).

Can I transfer my Pingify NFTs to another wallet? Yes, you can transfer your NFTs to another wallet, but be careful — if sent to the wrong address, they may be lost permanently.

How can I contact Pingify for support?
